The project DjangoMania was born in 2006 form the meeting of Andrea Rotoli and Claudio Pietrucci, both guitarists and lovers of the big Django Reinhardt, a gipsy guitarist and composer, and of his Quintette du Hot Club de France, created in 1934 with the violinist Stéphane Grappelli. They want to reproduce in style Django's successes and the great classics of Swing Manouche. To complete the line-up of two guitars, a rhythmical and a solo one, Daniele Petrosillo, expert double bass player. A particular attention is given to the instruments: infact, besides the exclusively utilization of acustic guitars, they use ‘copies' of the famous Selmer-Maccaferri, Django's guitar. The repertory includes Swing Manouche (Minor Swing, Les Yeux Noir, Nuages), american standards (All of Me, Autumn Leaves, Donna Lee) and italian songs (Estate, In cerca di te, Guarda che luna).
